Dog-Friendly Restaurants in Bosnia and Herzegovina

We spent six weeks last March and April in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We researched bringing our dog, Pedro the Westie, as many people suggested that Bosnia and Herzegovina is not the most dog-friendly country in Europe. We had a great time, and many restaurants allowed dogs on their outdoor patios. The weather was fantastic, and we were able to explore and dine at many excellent restaurants in Bosnia and Herzegovina with our dog.
Banja Luka
Banja Luka is the second largest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a general rule, we have found that dogs are allowed on outdoor restaurant patios, but never indoors. Most restaurants were very welcoming, but never assume that your dog is allowed without asking first.

Dog-Friendly Restaurants in Banja Luka

Restoran Hedonist

Hedonist Restaurant is a trendy restaurant located on the banks of the Vrbas River. It offers indoor and outdoor seating, and dogs are allowed on the outdoor patio. The patio is covered on sunny days, making it an ideal spot to relax. The food and service are both excellent, and the staff is friendly to pets. The restaurant owner’s cats roam freely on the patio. Pedro is crazy about cats but he managed to keep his cool.

With limited seating, we opted for takeout, but Pedro was welcomed both indoors and outdoors. Although the menu is simple, the food is delicious and the staff is extremely friendly.

Tipping in Restaurants in Bosnia and Herzegovina

When dining out at restaurants and cafes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is customary to leave a gratuity for good service. Usually, a tip of 10% of the total bill is considered good practice. For cafes and smaller amounts, it is appropriate to round up.

PEDRO THE WESTIE

I am originally from Calgary, Canada, but now I am living my best life exploring the world with my hoomans, Natascha and Josef. I am not a guide or a service dog, and when I travel, all rules apply. Hopefully, I can inspire other hoomans to travel and explore with their dogs.
